IТ - BASE OF INTEL
For the first time our newspaper was noted on IT-event of such scale. We have been invited by corporation Intel to a business - forum in Moscow taken place on October, 1, and also to the further actions connected with arrival of the president and executive director on operations of corporation Intel Paul Otellini in Russia.
As shows experience of many companies, at replacement of desktop computers by mobile PCs the labour productivity of employee grows by 20-25 %, and in opinion of experts Intel, "mobile" employees work 3-8 o'clock more a week. It is pertinently to add that the basic rate of management Intel on regular and duly updating of corporate computer park in many respects has caused the fact that for 17 years the Intel, despite of all rises and falling of economic, is successively finishing every quarter without exception with profit. As P.Otellini has noted, the status of Russian sphere of IT in a business - segment still leaves much to be desired. So, according to analysts of INSEAD, on a level of distribution of network, the Internet- and web-technologies Russia takes only the 69-th place in the world, far having lagged behind from such neighbouring states as Estonia (24-th place), Poland (39) and China (43.) Azerbaijan, alas, has not got at all in number of 82 proindexed countries. In Russia with the population from above 145 million person only 7,5 million are regular Internet users that is obviously not enough for the country recently showing high enough rates of economic development,- has emphasized P.Otellini. At the same time weakness of development of a network infrastructure can turn back its major advantage before the most experienced countries in the sphere of information technologies as it allows, passing the intermediate stages of becoming, to proceed to introduction of the advanced technologies including wireless at once. It is interesting, that much from what Otellini told can be applied freely to our region, in fact Azerbaijan in many respects goes on a way of development of information technologies similar to Russia, but hardly lower rates. Further statement of the president of Intel was supported from a tribune of a forum by the head of IT-division of administration of Chuvashia Dmitry Nazipov and by the executive director on information technologies of Tyumen oil company Richard Ejms. At the subsequent press conference the journalists have been given the opportunity to ask questions to mister Otellini. In particular, we have been interested whether the corporation Intel plans to expand the representations in national segments of the markets of CIS countries. To this the head of the Intel has declared, that in view of volumes of these markets, the Russian representation and dealers in regions suffice at the given stage. As it has been marked, that neither in Russia, nor in republics of former Union the Intel yet does not plan expansion of manufacture though at the same time these markets are very interesting to corporation and will be supported in every possible way. At press conference the questions on technologies of wireless networks as well as technologies of processors Intel Centrino for mobile PCs were actual. Within the framework of his visit P.Otellini has been in Nizhni Novgorod where is a Center on development of the software, created by corporation, and in Saint Petersburg, having acted with a lecture before students of the St.-Petersburg State university (St.Petersburg State University). Addressing to students of St.Petersburg State University, P.Otellini has declared the opening at university of research laboratory of system programming and hardware maintenance where workstations and wireless networks are used on the basis of architecture of the Intel, and also toolkit of the Intel - compilers, debuggers, libraries. It would be desirable to trust that in the near future the strategy of the Intel will find distribution in our regionas, as well taking into consideration that Azerbaijan is one of the leaders in the field of development of information technologies.
